Our Story
Founded in 1981 by its eponymous owner, the first Ron Smiths’ salon opened in the Villa Marina Arcade, and in the thirty years that followed, expanded to have eight salons Island-wide.
At the age of 14, Lydia Quayle joined the Ron Smiths’ team with a Saturday job sweeping hair and working up alongside studies, to today with over 35 years barbering experience. With her, Ron Smiths’ has grown into how we know it today: Paramount City Barbers. Opening doors in the new location under a fresh brand in 2024, carrying the same experienced team to Paramount City.

Our Salon
Paramount City is the ideal location, boasting the convenience of being in Douglas without the hassle of the highstreet - not to mention plenty of free, easy parking. What’s more, Paramount City Barbers sits within Paramount City Coffee House, meaning while you wait for your cut, you can grab a coffee and enjoy the seaview.
Our salon prioritises cleanliness and strives to serve as a place where you can enjoy your experience in comfort as we believe every haircut should be something to look forward to.
Virtual Queue System

If you want the flexibility of going to the barbers on the day you want a haircut but don’t want to sit in a barbershop all day waiting for your turn, then Paramount City Barbers is the place for you.
How does it work?
1. You will be able to join an online queue through our website or at Paramount City.
2. You can view your place in the queue by visiting the queue.
3. Once it’s your turn for your haircut you will receive an email/text message alert 5 mins before you need to arrive.
4. From then, you may make your way to the salon for your haircut.
5. If you're early come and grab a coffee and relax!
